A special Sunday take away The Sunday before Christmas our church has a tradition. We dress up a little more, put on the best of our Sunday best, and we meet at our Sunday School leaders houses for a special brunch. The time is a time of sweet fellowship and time to just be togetherContinue reading “Sunday Takeaway 12-20-2020”

Letting Go of the Wheel
I always knew sending them out the door to college and life that they could fall flat on their face. In some ways I expected it. That way I was prepared if it did happen. (I don’t advise thinking this way.) How do you do this as a mom?
Hamster Wheel
Do you exercise? What do you like to do? What kind of exerciser are you? Up until about 15 years ago I was not an exerciser. I hadn’t been active and I recognized that it wasn’t a good idea to continue that way. So I made a change. I was really regular for a numberContinue reading “Hamster Wheel”
From the Empty Nest
I recently did a Bible study that challenged us all to be mentors. There is always someone we can encourage and teach. I’ve been feeling called to share more motherhood tips lately and that can be scary. I am not and have never been the perfect mother. There are several things I wish I’d doneContinue reading “From the Empty Nest”
Wedding Panic
I attended a wedding yesterday that was the sweetest, most faith filled wedding I’d been to in a while. It moved me to tears so many times! Beautiful Blooms of Fall
Last bloom. Late bloomer. Still as beautiful as the first bloom. Nothing late. Bloomed in it’s time. Beautiful bloom of fall. The bloom is fading. Still first blush of youth with the wisdom of age. Life is not half over, it’s half begun. So much beauty to behold. Still much beauty to give. Beautiful bloomContinue reading “Beautiful Blooms of Fall”
Fall
I think all the leaves have decided to fall today. Was not prepared for that! We haven’t even had a freeze yet. We’re going to have a carpet of leaves on the lawn by tonight! What’s the weather like in your area? Are you seeing amazing colors? Has the temperature dropped? We have had coolContinue reading “Fall”
Staycation
I’ve been on vacation since Monday and it’s been glorious. The weather has cooperated and it’s felt like summer everyday. I soaked it up Tuesday by having coffee in the park with a friend. Wednesday Philip and I went to Lincoln and ate lunch outside and were able to shop and browse in perfect weather.Continue reading “Staycation”
New Path
I have loved Facebook from the moment my sister introduced me to it. Twitter I never understood (then I listened to a Reply All podcast that basically said I never would) and Instagram I have love/hate relationship with.
You’re Invited
Kitchen people or front door people Our last house was an old house – probably close to a hundred years old! And I’ll be the first to admit that it didn’t look that great from the outside. I mean, it looked nice, don’t get me wrong, but it’s only if I invited you in andContinue reading “You’re Invited”
